Progressive antithrombin: a three-phase system.

چکیده
By HENRY II. IIENSTELL AN!) MIRIAM KLICERMAN T COMMUNICATION is concerned with a systematic study of pr gressive antithrombic activity. The results imidicate that amititlirombic activity is not due to a single entity but consists of a three-phase system: a plasma antithrombin which appears to be identical with Antithrombin III, a plasma inhibitor which neutralizes the plasma antithrombin, and a platelet factor which functions to bind the inhibitor. The final reaction, the binding of throm1)iIi, results from the interaction of these three factors.

Antithrombin III Basel. Identification of a Pro-Leu substitution in a hereditary abnormal antithrombin with impaired heparin cofactor activity.
Antithrombin III Basel is a hereditary abnormal antithrombin with normal progressive inhibition activity (normal reactive site) and reduced heparin cofactor activity (impaired heparin binding site). Structures of antithrombin III Basel and normal antithrombin III isolated from the same patient were compared by peptide mapping using the dimethylaminoazobenzene isothiocyanate precolumn derivatiza...
متن کاملMEASUREMENT OF PROGRESSIVE ANTITHROMBIN (AT III) ACTIVITY USING ANTI IIa METHOD (#221122) INTENDED USE: Chromogenic assay for the quantitative determination of the “progressive” activity of Antithrombin (AT), heparin independent, in human citrated plasma using an anti IIa
ASSAY PRINCIPLE: Antithrombin is the major physiological coagulation inhibitor. It inhibits coagulation serine esterases, especially Thrombin, Factor Xa and Factor IXa, regulates coagulation pathway and prevents from thrombosis. In the absence of heparin, Antithrombin is a “slow acting”, progressive, inhibitor of coagulation serine esterases. The antithrombin Anti-IIa method is a method based o...
متن کاملThe Effects of Increasing Running Speed on Three-Dimensional Peak Angle of the Lower Limb Joints in Stance Phase
Objective: Attention can be paid to the biomechanical characteristics of running since the speed of running varies. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of increasing running speed on the three-dimensional kinematics of the lower limb’ joints in the stance phase. Methods: The research was quasi-experimental. 27 volunteer subjects ran on a treadmill and the kinematic and ...
متن کاملAntithrombin III deficiency: decreased synthesis of a biochemically normal molecule.
A 29-yr-old white female has suffered from recurrent venous thromboses over the last 12 yr. Plasma antithrombin III (AT-III) levels were 48% of normal by immunoelectrophoresis and 56% by chromogenic assay. Three of four siblings and the father had similar AT-III levels without associated venous thromboses. Heparin-Sepharose chromatography demonstrated normal behavior of the patient's AT-III. He...
متن کاملCase Report Cerebral Infarction in a Heterozygote With Variant Antithrombin III
Background: We report a heterozygous case of familial qualitative deficiency of antithrombin III associated with cerebral infarction. Case Description: A 33-year-old man had a history of recurrent transient ischemic attacks from the age of 28. Cerebral computed tomography at age 29 disclosed a low-density area in the left frontal lobe, and an internal carotid angiogram showed branch occlusion o...
